Periodically the Town and/or the Town’s Board of Commissioners create temporary committees designed to tackle a particular project or issue. These committees often meet for a specific length of time or until their project is complete. Ad hoc committees meet on an as needed basis. For current information, please contact Nags Head Town Clerk Carolyn F. Morris at 252-449-2009 or via email.
The Board of Commissioners created this committee to provide recommendations on an ordinance related to multi-family/workforce housing. The Board has requested that this committee complete its work by June of 2024.
The 2022 Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan was adopted in April 2022. One of the recommendations from the plan was to evaluate the feasibility of a town led voluntary septic system subscription service, which would be available to homeowners with conventional septic systems. The Voluntary Septic System Subscription Service Working Group was put together to further evaluate the program need and guidelines.
Members of the Stormwater Committee, formed October 2017, were charged with bringing forward issues/problems in their respective neighborhood, taking stormwater information back to their neighborhoods, and establishing criteria for prioritizing stormwater projects.
