Town of Nags Head
There will be no changes to the residential and commercial trash/recycling collection schedule due to Memorial Day on May 31, 2021. The bulk item/brush collection yard will also continue to operate on its normal schedule. All Town of Nags Head administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 31, 2021 to honor those in our armed forces who gave their lives for our great country. We have canceled this year's Memorial Day ceremony. To honor those who died while serving our country, we have developed a video explaining the history and importance of that day. We hope you enjoy it. Have a safe holiday. Please remember that all fireworks are prohibited in Nags Head and that equipment, such as tents and canopies, cannot be left on the beach overnight. If they are left unattended on the beach between 8 pm and 7 am, they will considered litter and will be collected.

Memorial Day Ceremony Canceled

Memorial Day Remembrance In Lieu of Ceremony

Sadly, we had to cancel this year's Memorial Day ceremony a few weeks ago. To honor those who died serving in our nation's armed forces, we developed a video explaining the history and importance of this important day. We know a video is not the same as an actual ceremony, but hope you understand.

We intend to honor all the men and women of our military at our annual Veterans Day ceremony on November 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. We hope to see you there. Thank you for understanding.

Headed to the beach soon? If so, remember that leaving personal items unattended on the beach between 8 pm and 7 am is prohibited. If items such as tents are not removed daily, they will be considered litter and will be removed.
