McKim & Creed, the contractor responsible for our annual beach monitoring, is scheduled to begin a special interim survey on Friday, October 31. Their team will perform both land-based and water-based measurements, using a pickup truck marked with the McKim & Creed logo and a Kawasaki side-by-side mule. For the water-based portion of the survey, they will operate a 26'–28' survey vessel to collect offshore data. During this process, the vessel may operate close to the shoreline. Don't be alarmed if you see it near the beach. The survey is expected to take approximately 5–6 days to complete, weather permitting.

From glowing decorations to gear that lights the way on Halloween night, lithium-ion batteries power a lot this time of year. Keep your celebrations safe: - Buy only listed products — look for a mark from a nationally recognized testing lab such as UL, ETL, or CSA.
- Charge safely — use the original cords, follow manufacturer instructions, and charge on a hard surface.
A safe Halloween is the best kind of Halloween. Learn more from the National Fire Protection Association website.
