Public Services Open House May 20, 2025, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In celebration of National Public Works Week 2025 (May 18 - 24, 2025), Nags Head's Public Services Department will host an open house at their new complex on Lark Avenue in the north end of town.

Named in honor of long-time elected official Renée Cahoon, the complex is home to six vital divisions that represent a third of the Town's personnel. The campus features a combined fleet maintenance, sanitation, and facilities maintenance building, a water distribution building with office spaces and storage areas, and an area for vehicle washing and fueling. The new campus also includes an administration building and a redesigned bulk waste/recycling area.

In addition to self-guided tours of the complex, the free open house on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will feature self-guided tours  and interactions with staff. Light refreshments will also be served.

Before starting on the self-guided tour, community members must check in at the Public Services Administration building at 2203 Lark Avenue to pick up a map.

Visitors are asked to park in the Public Services Administration building lot and along the side of South Lark Avenue.

Attending the open house is a great opportunity for Nags Head community members to get an insider’s look into the new complex.
