Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan Input Needed

We're updating our Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan and we need YOUR input!

As background, to help homeowners continually maintain septic systems, the Town created the Septic Health Initiative in 2000 for Nags Head residents. In 2005, the Town approved a Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) that more clearly outlines the importance of septic health, maintenance, and education in relation to our region's water quality. (In 2019, the Septic Health Initiative was renamed in honor of Todd D. Krafft, an employee who tirelessly managed and promoted the program.)

The short survey only takes only six minutes to complete. We're looking for feedback that will guide  and suggest changes and additions to the Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan and Septic Health Initiative. For more information on the survey or the plan update, contact Environmental Planner Kylie.Shephard@nagsheadnc.gov.

The responsibilities of a deputy town clerk are vast and varied, to say the least. And, because of that, Deputy Town Clerk Michelle Gray, who was recognized this week by Nags Head's Board of Commissioners for 25 years of service, holds the proverbial key to our town. ??? Need an arcane piece of Town of Nags Head information? Michelle can find it. Want to know the requirements of holding a large, public event in Nags Head? Michelle knows. Where and how to file an easement? Whether or not you can hold a wedding ceremony on the beach? Call Michelle. And these are just some of her easier-to-explain duties. Congratulations, Michelle. We're looking forward to a similar post for your 40th anniversary! ?? Standing behind Michelle are, from left to right, Commissioners Renée Cahoon and Webb Fuller, Mayor Pro Tem Mike Siers, Commissioner Kevin Brinkely, and Mayor Ben Cahoon.
