Ocean Sand Relocation Begins November 15

November 15, 2021 marks the beginning of the ocean sand relocation season. The Sand Relocation Program allows oceanside properties to relocate accumulated sand back onto the dunes and the ocean beach. Please note there are specific limitations on how much sand can be moved and how much dune and vegetation disturbance can occur. Work may be completed until April 30, 2022, with a cutoff date of April 15 for new permits to ensure work will be completed by April 30. Permit applications can be filled out online or submitted on the paper form at Town Hall during regular business hours. If you have any questions regarding sand relocation, please contact Kylie Shephard, Environmental Planner at 252-449-6047 or at kylie.shephard@nagsheadnc.gov. You can also visit the Ocean Sand Relocation web page for more information and to view FAQ’s.

Do you struggle with remembering which items you should and should not place in your curbside recycle bin? The most common safe to recycle items are paper, bottles, and cans. When in doubt, throw it out!
