Old Nags Head Cove 2022 Water Main Replacement Project

Posted on: March 11, 2022

[ARCHIVED] Old Nags Head Cove Watermain Replacement

Water main installation and residential service switchover was completed on Friday, March 11, 2022. All residential water services along W. Old Cove are connected and operating off of the recently installed water main. There may be a temporary discoloration in the water due to the lines being opened up. We recommend not doing any laundry or dishwashing until the water runs clear. Simply open a tap in your residence and run the water until it comes out clear.

Waterline installation will continue on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the intersection of W. Old Cove Rd. and S. Cobia Way. Work will progress from the intersection southward down S. Cobia Way.

During construction, expect single-lane road closures along the active construction area. We ask motorists and pedestrians alike to exercise caution when circulating within the active construction zone. Weekly project updates will be provided to inform residents of construction progress in addition to potential changes in neighborhood traffic circulation and planned utility service interruptions. For questions related to the project, please feel free to contact David Ryan, PE at 252.441.6221 or We thank you in advance for your patience during construction.
