Old Nags Head Cove 2022 Water Main Replacement Project

Posted on: March 8, 2022

[ARCHIVED] Old Nags Head Cove Watermain Replacement

Water main installation is scheduled to come online along W. Old Cove Rd the week of March 7, 2022. Residences along W. Old Cove Rd. are scheduled to have a temporary service interruption on Friday, March 11, 2022  between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to transition from the existing water main to the newly installed water main. The water service to each residence will be temporarily shut off for approximately 30 minutes in duration.

We realize this is inconvenient for our customers and will try to make the interruption as short in duration as possible. When the water service returns there may be some discoloration in the water due to the lines being opened up. We recommend not doing any laundry or dishwashing until the water runs clear. Simply open a tap in your residence and run the water until it comes out clear.

During construction, expect single-lane road closures along the active construction area. We ask motorists and pedestrians alike to exercise caution when circulating within the active construction zone. Weekly project updates will be provided to inform residents of construction progress in addition to potential changes in neighborhood traffic circulation and planned utility service interruptions. For questions related to the project, please feel free to contact David Ryan, PE at 252.441.6221 or We thank you in advance for your patience during construction.
