Project construction for the Old Nags Head Cove water main replacement project is currently underway. Construction crews have begun adjacent to the intersection of W. Danube Street/ W Old Cove Road. Project construction will continue across W. Danube St. along the east and north side of W. Old Cove Rd. through to S. Croatan Highway. On the morning of Tuesday, February 15th, W. Danube St. , adjacent to the intersection of W. Old Cove Rd., will be reduced to a single lane of traffic. This condition will be temporary and may only last for several hours to complete the road crossing.
During active construction, we ask motorists and pedestrians alike to exercise caution when circulating within the active construction zone. Weekly project updates will be provided to inform residents of construction progress in addition to potential changes in neighborhood traffic circulation and planned utility service interruptions.
