[ARCHIVED] Residential Energy and Water Conservation Guide

Nags Head Energy and Water Conservation Guide

Funded by an AIA North Caroina Activate grant, The Town of Nags Head worked with NC State, AIA NC, and  professionals from The East Group to create a graphic rich informational guide for homeowners. Energy and water conservation are complex issues that will require the collective action of individual citizens and municipalities working together to address and ensure long-term sustainability of the community. The goal of this guide is to identify and present actionable ways for homeowners to incorporate more energy and water efficiency measures into home and landscape designs. To kick off the development of this guide, the Town of Nags Head created a series of surveys for residents, property managers, design professionals, and contractors to share their opinions and experiences with energy and water conservation strategies. Through this survey, the town learned more about residents’ energy and water saving motivations and values, how people are already prioritizing energy and water conservation, and areas where conservation strategies can be strengthened.
