Nags Head’s curbside collection of bulk and brush begins Monday, October 3rd. There is NO on-demand collection or a waiting list (you will NOT need to call in). You can put your separated piles out anytime between October 3rd and April 30th. This service is only for homeowners and residents of IMPROVED lots.
Once we finish each sweep; we will repeat the same order sweep until the program ends on April 30th.
The order of each Town sweep will be the following areas of Town:
North West~ Industrial Park, Carolinian Circle, The Pond, NH Acres, Old NH Woods Road, Vista Colony, Woodhill, The Villas, North Ridge
South West~ Soundside Road and South Ridge, The Cove, The Village, Lakeside, Cedar Island, Pond Island, Causeway
South East~ South Old Oregon Inlet Road (SOOIR)
North East~ Areas east of US/158 from Gray Eagle Street to Eighth Street, including east side of The Village, BTH/ Between the Highways- All neighborhoods that are between US/158 and located on South Virginia Dare Trail
Piles must be separated:
- 1st pile - vegetative: branches, bushes, shrubs (must be in cut lengths of not over 8 feet), leaves and pine needles (place in paper bags-no plastic bags)
- 2nd pile- construction and demolition (only small homeowner projects LESS than 144 sq ft. are allowed): lumber, drywall, flooring (large projects over 144 sq ft. and/or owners using contractors shall NOT place materials for collection. Violators will be fined).
- 3rd pile- metals: washers/dryers, refrigerators, water heaters, iron, aluminum and steel.
- 4th pile- Furniture such as beds, sofas, mattresses, box springs, chairs etc.
The last day to place bulk items at the curb will be April 30th.
