A beach restoration project will take place sometime between late spring and early fall 2022 from 8031 South Old Oregon Inlet Road (Comfort Inn South) near Mile Post 16 south to Nags Head's corporate limits abutting Cape Hatteras National Seashore near Mile Post 21.
Schedule
The dredging contractor will likely provide a preliminary schedule for the work in the spring of 2022. These projects are complex, with a lot of variables that may impact the construction schedule.
A construction schedule map will be posted on the 2022 Beach Restoration Project web site in the spring of 2022. This map will be updated daily during the project to provide the latest beach closure information.
