IMG_8977

Recent project construction has resulted in several multi-use path and sidewalk closures in town. The following provides the current status of the impacted pathways:

W. Side Multi-Use Path- South of Soundside Rd.- The recently temporary multi-use path closure has been lifted with full access restored to pedestrian traffic. Please exercise caution when operating in the area south of the wood-framed pedestrian bridge as construction activity is still in progress for the Coastal Villas Subdivision. A temporary gravel surface will remain in place at the new street entrance location until the street section is fully constructed prepared for paving.

W. Danube St. Sidewalk- The utility contractor has completed the drainage replacement work in conjunction with individual driveway access and concrete sidewalk restoration. The walkway is open to pedestrian traffic.

S. Old Oregon Inlet Rd. Multi-Use Path.- A section of the existing multi-use path was removed earlier this week in the area of Islington St., just south of the Outer Banks Pier. This section will be re-opened the week of April 19th when the paving operations are completed for the Islington St. Beach Access improvement project.
