Rainfall associated with the remnants of Hurricane Sally will continue to overspread the region and become heavier tonight through Friday morning. Precipitation amounts of 2 to 4 inches across area, with isolated higher amounts likely. Runoff from this heavy rain will likely result in flash flooding across portions of Eastern NC. Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas is possible.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. Please monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don’t drown.
