Repairs to existing and damaged roofing, siding, and non-pool barrier fencing associated with one and two-family dwellings do not require building permits. Contractors and homeowners may proceed with these repairs immediately; should total removal or replacement be required, please contact the Town before proceeding. Repairs that involve load-bearing walls or other structural support members, installation of new fencing, pool barriers, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC work DO require permits from the Town.
In order to facilitate these repairs, the Town has instituted an expedited permitting process. In these cases, homeowners or contractors will need to fill out a Development Permit Application. Once the application is submitted, the Town will issue an emergency repair permit on the spot. No fees are being collected at this time.
