Old Nags Head Cove Water Main Replacement Project
The map above represents the current progress of the Old Nags Head Cove Water Main Replacement Project. The recently installed water main is represented by the blue linework with the orange color representing the sections of water main recently installed but not yet operational and the green dashed line representing the upcoming work schedule.
Tentative Construction Schedule
Week of April 25th- 6" watermain to be installed along Fin Lane and continue southward along S. Pompano Ct. Separately, an 8" dia. water main is scheduled to be installed beginning at south end of S. Roanoke Way. This construction type will primarily be conducted via horizontal directional drill, (HDD). The HDD construction method will connect with the open-cut construction from the northern portion of S. Roanoke Way. Sections of S. Blue Marlin Way and W. Sandpiper Terrace will be scheduled to be directional drilled.
Week of May 2nd- Horizontal directional drill portions of S. Links Dr. through the golf course through S. Roanoke Way and the southernmost section of S. Blue Marlin Way. Continue installation of 6" water main along S. Pompano Ct. Complete directional drilling of long service connections for the portions of installed water main. Once all service connections are completed, the newly installed water main will be pressure tested, chlorinated, flushed, and placed into operation.
Week of May 9th- Conduct concrete apron work in areas of open-cut type construction.
