Hearing or Seeing More Coyotes Lately?Expect to see and hear more coyotes over the coming weeks as young coyotes leave their parents’ territory to establish a home of their own. They may wander long distances – upward of 300 miles – before settling down somewhere that’s not already occupied by an established coyote pair. As young coyotes roam, biologists at the NC Wildlife Resources Commission experience an increase in reported sightings.

How many town halls across the United States can lay claim to having a shipwreck in their parking lot? We bet we're the only one.

Getting Ready for Small Business Saturday on November 27, 2021? Save these tips to help reduce, reuse, and recycle while supporting your local community.
- REDUCE: Maritime transport emits around 940 million tons of CO2 annually. Help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by shopping locally.
- REUSE: Prevent holiday waste by bringing reusable bags on your shopping trip, and request natural wrapping paper that can be recycled (not tissue paper).
- RECYCLE: Boxes and paper bags leftover from shopping can be recycled - no plastic bags, please!
**Don't forget! You can sign up for the curbside recycling service from TFC Recycling. The cost is $9/month with a two year contract. Helps us recycle right in Nags Head!
