Energy and Water Conservation Survey

We Still Need Your Input Regarding Energy and Water Conservation - Survey Closes October 25!

There's still time to tell us what you think about residential energy and water conservation!  The Town needs your input for the development of a residential energy and water conservation guide.  The Town received a small grant through the North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects to develop a Residential Energy and Water Conservation Guide. Through your input, the Town hopes to identify actionable ways for homeowners to incorporate more energy and water efficiency measures into home designs. Best practices for achieving a more resilient home design will be presented in an interactive, digital guide to be made available through the Town’s website.

Energy and water conservation are necessary for the future of the Town as it continues to manage extreme weather events that are exacerbated by climate change and sea level rise. By addressing energy and water conservation measures in residential structures, the Town hopes to mitigate damages from extreme weather events, improve energy usage, and reduce groundwater rise, as it has negative impacts on septic system functionality and water quality.  Energy and water conservation are complex issues that will require the collective action of individual citizens and municipalities working together to address and ensure long-term sustainability of the community.

The survey will take 10 minutes to complete and can be located at   www.surveymonkey.com/r/energyandwaterconservationcommunity or at the QR code in the image on the right. Thank you for taking time to take this brief survey. For more information, contact Holly White (holly.white@nagsheadnc.gov) or Kate Jones (kate.jones@nagsheadnc.gov).
