Nags Head Fire Rescue's annual breast cancer awareness t-shirts have arrived and are on sale now! Two options this year: pink shirts and a limited number of green shirts.

All proceeds are donated to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, Inc./ Breast Cancer Fund.

Recycle Those Oyster Shells

As you enjoy tasty oysters from our pristine coastal waters this fall and winter, remember to recycle your oyster shells. Rather than tossing shells in the trash, which is banned, there are several shell recycling drop-off sites across the coast.

The North Coastal Federation’s Recycling for Reefs Program collects shell and then works with local partners to build oyster reefs and living shorelines with them.

A nonpartisan municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in the towns of Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Manteo, Nags Head and Southern Shores to elect officials. The polls will be open for voting on November 2nd from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dare County municipal elections are non-partisan plurality elections. The candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be elected.
