Ocean overwash is also a significant concern, mainly for areas north of Cape Hatteras. Gale Warnings, Wind Advisories, Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories continue.

Blue Cart Recycling Collection Starts March 15

Subscription-Based Curbside Recycling Starts May 1!

Thank you for your interest in the $9/month subscription-based curbside recycling service to be provided by TFC Recycling to Nags Head homeowners! We now have enough potential subscribers for the service to begin May 1, 2021! Look for TFC Recycling to contact you in the next few weeks.

As of today, we're still gathering contact information for TFC, so be sure to tell your friends and family they can visit nagsheadnc.gov/recycling to enter their information if they are interested in the service. Once TFC's call center is operational we'll stop taking contact information and those interested in the service can contact TFC directly.

Please remember that to limit confusion on how carts may be used, we're collecting the blue recycling carts from each residence and reissuing them to those households subscribing with TFC. Our goal is for only those properties in the subscription program to have recycling carts.

Be sure to place your blue recycling carts by the road starting Monday, March 22, 2021 so that we may collect them (we're no longer collecting by geographic phases). If we missed collecting your cart, we'll be back by again later to pick it up.

Also, starting May 1, 2021, we'll have new sanitation routes and a new sanitation schedule. Visit our residential refuse collection web site for more information and a route map. Note that the schedule will remain the same all year long and that those subscribing to the curbside recycling service will have their blue carts emptied on Mondays.
