I Wear a Mask For Video

New Videos Promote Face Coverings

As you may already know, individuals in North Carolina are required to wear a face covering in indoor and outdoor public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained, with some exceptions. For more information, read North Carolina Executive Order 147 or visit the Face Coverings section of the Dare County web site.

Dare County, along with the towns of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Manteo, have collaborated on several videos that encourage the public to wear masks. You may recognize friends, family, local business owners, or our elected officials in the videos as they explain why they wear their masks. These are trying times, but we are a tough, resilient community. Take care of yourselves and your families, and thank you for doing your part to stop the spread.

Jacob Street Public Beach Access Improvements Completed
Just in time for the 4th of July weekend, we were able to complete the improvements to the Jacob Street public beach access in south Nags Head just south of Mile Post 19. Plenty of parking and an accessible ramp makes this a great secret beach spot for those in the know. Thanks to the Division of Coastal Management for their grant assistance with this project.
