For those who have not been in the area recently, we’re making a lot of improvements, such as installing water lines and extending our multi-use path, along the southbound lane of South Croatan Highway between Hollowell Street near Mile Post 12 south to the Outlets Nags Head  in the 7100 block of South Croatan Highway near Mile Post 16. Be prepared for closures of the right lane of the highway in this area. For more information, visit https://www.nagsheadnc.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=259. This work will continue into the summer. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Nags Head’s Planning and Development Department continues to encourage everyone to conduct their business with the Town either online or via the phone. Trade permits can be applied for and issued online. Online permitting is also available for sign permits, commercial and residential repair permits, residential demolition permits, and residential remodel permits (without additional heated square footage). Online permitting is available. For most every other permit or approval, the department can make arrangements to coordinate the submittal of applications and materials, issue permits, and take payments (the Town has temporarily waived all payment service fees).

If you need assistance, call or email first (252-441-7016 or planning@nagsheadnc.gov) and the department will find a way to accommodate your needs.

Bet we're not alone in hoping we can walk on Nags Head's fishing piers again one day. Hang in there, we'll get through this. Don't forget to practice social distancing on the beach, too.
