[ARCHIVED] Multi Use Pathway Update February 14, 2020

Feet on Nags Head Multi Use Path

• Phase 8A – Planned construction of a 10’ wide multi-use pathway on the west side of S. Croatan Hwy., spanning from W. Soundside Rd. to W. Danube St. in conjunction with the construction of a 6’ wide sidewalk from Dune St. to Deering St. (East Side). Concrete pathway installation is underway and currently being conducted along the west side of S. Croatan Hwy. in the area between Danube St. and Deering St.. Concrete pathway installation will continue northward in the area between Grace Lutheran Church and Deering St.  The water line installation is complete with final testing being conducted the first part of next week.  Work will typically occur between the hours of 7am and 6pm, Monday – Friday.  Expect temporary lane closures within the active construction work zone area. We ask that all motorists please exercise caution and slow down when travelling within the active construction work zone. 

• Phase 8B - Planned construction of a 10’ wide multi-use pathway on the west side of S. Croatan Hwy., spanning from W. Danube St. to W. Seachase Dr. To address time restrictions and budgetary limitations, the project has been divided in two separate parts, W. Danube St. to the north side of Outer Banks Mall and the second part continuing south to W. Seachase Dr. Bids were received on Tuesday February 11, 2019 and the Board of Commissioners will consider the lowest responsive, responsible bid proposal at the next Board of Commissioners  meeting on Tuesday February 18th at 1pm. Construction is estimated to commence in early March. 

• Phase 8C - Planned construction of a 10’ wide multi-use pathway on the west side of S. Croatan Hwy., spanning from W. Baymeadow Dr. to Gull St.  Bids were received on Tuesday February 11, 2019 and the Board of Commissioners will consider the lowest responsive, responsible bid proposal  at the next Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday February 18th at 1pm. Construction is estimated to commence in early March.
